What’s it all about?

Winterpark will be Cornwall’s first dry ski slope and the best ski, snowboard and tobogganing centre in the UK. Using a realistic, snow like material called Snowflex, the slope will be carved into the side of a hill to provide nursery runs, deep bowls, halfpipes and ramps for all abilities of freerider.

Objectives include:
• create a major new tourism, sports and leisure visitor attraction
• create up to 200 jobs at the centre and in the local economy
• enhance and protect the environment through a series of measures
• create a charitable ‘freeride club’ for local people
• be a community focal point encouraging active healthy lifestyles
• provide education and training
• be a major training facility for winter sports athletes and enthusiasts
• bring inward private investment

Yeah, but can you teach me?

Of course… Winterpark will be as much about learning as about fun. You can use our own excellent Freeride Academy or you can learn from any of our partners who also use qualified ski and snowboard instructors.

We’ll be using the most advanced training and coaching methods to ensure you get the most out of your time on the slope. We will also be working with schools and colleges, training agencies and career advisors to provide a first-class educational experience.

I’m impressed – but what if I just want to watch?

For those who’d prefer to watch the action and for those who want to chill out after a ski or snowboard session, there will be a wide range of après ski facilities including a bar and restaurant, sun terrace, internet café wi-fi access, picnic/ bbq area, retail shop with demo equipment, crèche facility and a function/conference/training room.
